Cookie Notice
This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) kimaboo uses, what they do, and how you can manage them. How we process personal data in general is described in our Privacy Policy.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off:
- kimaboo_cc — stores your cookie choices from the consent banner. Duration: 182 days.
- Authentication cookies (access and refresh token) — keep you signed in. They are httpOnly (not readable by scripts). Duration: session up to 30 days.
- kimaboo_locale — remembers your language choice. Duration: 1 year.
- Local and session storage — your signed-in profile info and unsaved book-creation drafts, stored in your browser so forms are not lost between pages.
- Stripe — our payment provider sets its own cookies during checkout for payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe’s cookie policy.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we host ourselves. Basic page-view measurement is anonymous, sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and honors your browser’s "Do Not Track" setting. We rely on it under our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our service; you can opt out at any time in the cookie settings.
Optional session recording (a sampled, masked replay of page interactions) runs only if you enable the analytics category — it uses client-side storage and therefore requires your consent.
Marketing
We currently use no marketing or advertising cookies. The category exists in the consent banner so that, should this ever change, nothing runs without your prior consent.
